After Orlando worked for over 10 years at some of Sydney’s best hospitality venues, he packed up and moved down to Wollongong to begin his dream of owning his own restaurant. Through Orlando’s extensive knowledge about pizza and his Mother’s (Angela) Nonna’s touch, the pair have grown Da Orlando Woodfire Pizzeria to be amongst the most successful authentic Italian restaurants in Wollongong!
Orlando’s pizza is cooked in the traditional roman style way, making the pizzas crunchier and less doughy. For the more demanding stomach and to keep his pizza very light, he proves the dough for 72 hours at the perfect temperature to achieve the best result possible.
Orlando also wants the chance for as many people as possible to enjoy his range of authentic Italian meals, which is why he has included gluten-free options on his menu. All of the pasta dishes available (besides the meatballs) are gluten-free, as well as his delicious truffle desserts. Unfortunately, he can not offer gluten-free pizza bases as the pizza is cooked in the same woodfire oven as non-gluten-free bases. Which means there is a very high risk of contamination. The healthy and safety of the customers is the number one priority for Da Orlando Woodfire Pizzeria.
